When to use it

  • Use for freshwater and saltwater aquariums.
  • Use when investigating fish stress, a new aquarium or possible disruption of biological filtration.

How to use

  • Fill a clean test tube with 5 mL of aquarium water, to the line on the tube.
  • Add 8 drops from Ammonia Test Solution Bottle #1.
  • Hold the dropper bottle completely vertical when adding drops.
  • Add 8 drops from Ammonia Test Solution Bottle #2.
  • Follow the current API instruction card for mixing and waiting time, then compare the result against the supplied colour chart.
  • Rinse the test tube with clean water after use.

Understanding your result

  • A result of 0 ppm means no ammonia was detected by the entered test result.
  • Ammonia above 0 ppm should normally be addressed promptly with corrective aquarium care and retesting.
